Kicillof Opens Legislative Session Amid Political Tension

The governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, will open a new session of the provincial Legislature tomorrow in a context of high political tension, following the request for resignation and threat of intervention by President Javier Milei. Amid a confrontation with the national administration due to a series of violent crimes that have affected the management of provincial security, Kicillof will lead the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday at 5 PM.

In his speech, the governor will seek to position himself as a prominent figure of the opposition to the Government, calling to defend democracy, institutions, and the national Constitution against the danger represented by Milei's authoritarian stance. Furthermore, Kicillof will advocate for federalism and will demand the restoration of resources cut from Buenos Aires at the start of his administration.

Kicillof is expected to make a statement regarding a potential change in the electoral calendar, and if so, whether he will present a bill to separate the elections to bring forward the elections in the province. The political sectors aligned with the governor in his internal dispute with Kirchnerism will mobilize en masse to La Plata, giving a militant character to the Legislative Assembly.

The mayors of La Matanza, Fernando Espinoza; Avellaneda, Jorge Ferraresi; Ensenada, Mario Secco; La Plata, Julio Alak; Berisso, Fabián Cagliardi; and Almirante Brown, Mariano Cascallares, will contribute their mobilization power, alongside political organizations such as "La Patria es el Otro," "Patria y Futuro," and "Kilómetro Cero," all linked to "kicillofismo," an internal current of Peronism that arose under the Movement Right to the Future.
